Yoga for BJJ

Yoga for BJJ

Some of the best BJJ players have also been diligently training in yoga. Jiu-Jitsu may have gotten labeled as "the gentle art," but this isn't always the case. Hard training takes a toll on the body. What can reverse that damage? Yoga. This is one of those things you'll wish you had started doing early on.
You might be wondering why Yoga is important for Jiu-Jitsu and fight training. Want to tap less? Having more flexibility and mobility will help with that. Want to escape awkward positions?  Training in Yoga will help accomplish that by making your transitions smoother. That crushing need for air during a match? Good Yoga practice will teach you how to increase the quality of your breathing. Want to get back to the mat and train hard another day? Yoga also prevents injury and reduces recovery time.
Our Yoga for BJJ is taught by Vic Williams, who has been practicing Japanese Ju Jutsu for over forty years. He is a certified Yoga instructor through the Midtown Athletic Club. These Yoga positions and workouts are designed specifically for Jiu Jitsu practitioners.
We have both seminars and private lessons available.
